Stroke - Re-accreditation Course

Overview:

“Heart Foundation and National Stroke Foundation have developed a new nationally accredited training course, providing Heartmoves leaders with additional skills and knowledge on how the health teams are currently managing stroke survivors,” said Tony Thirlwell, Heart Foundation NSW – CEO.

There is strong research evidence that physical activity has a protective effect on stroke.

The National Stroke Foundation in partnership with the Heart Foundation wish to increase stroke survivor access to the Heartmoves program and ensure that the Heartmoves program leaders are able to skilfully address the needs of stroke survivors. In this program, you will learn more about:

•    Stroke and the current management practices
•    the impact of stroke on stroke survivors and strategies to support stroke survivors
•    evidence based best practice to support delivery of safe exercise programs
•    opportunities to market Heartmoves program to the stroke community

Exercise & Sports Science Australia – 8 CEPs 
Physical Activity Australia (previously KinectAustralia) - 2 PDPs
